The current music industry model is broken for artists. On major streaming platforms, a song needs thousands of plays just to earn a single dollar – and most of that money goes to the platform, not the musician. Independent artists are creating incredible music and getting almost nothing in return.

Value for value flips the script. Instead of a platform deciding what your attention is worth, you decide. You listen for free. If you find value in what you hear, you send whatever amount feels right – directly to the artist. No middleman. No subscriptions. No minimum fees.

Both days of the event will be live-streamed. Viewers anywhere in the world can send bitcoin micropayments (called “sats”) over the Lightning Network to the artists performing on stage – in real time, as they play. These payments arrive instantly, settle for fractions of a penny in fees, and go straight to the artist’s wallet.

At the venue, the marketplace will also accept bitcoin and Lightning payments.

Traditional payment systems charge fees that make small payments impractical. You can’t send someone 50 cents through PayPal – the fees would eat the whole amount.
